Tidworth Town Festival

Amazing is one of my favourite words and Saturday 22nd July proved to be just that AMAZING as we saw the return of Tidworth Town Festival
Since our last festival in 2019 we have had a lockdown, several prime ministers, and our beloved Queen died.
The Town Council also built a shiny new Civic Centre resulting in us not having the space to hold the festival.
Having financially supported Tidworth Armed Forces Day (TAFD) in previous years it was decided rather than give a grant, it made sense to collaborate with them to put on one huge event for the community this year.
Despite the all the rain prior to the day, the sun got his hat on putting everyone in good spirits.
The location – Tidworth Polo pitch was the perfect setting with Tedworth House sitting impressively in the background.
TAFD provided entertainment up until 5pm, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Then at 5pm everyone got their dancing shoes on…..
There was a DJ to warm you all up before the live music from the talented Stone Cold Hustle, the unique, amazing (yes I used that word again) Show Hawk Duo and then Mellowmatic ended the show with their energetic vibes.
Thank you to Castledown FM for teaming up with us and providing support for the whole event, professional and fun as always.
I must give a shout out to AJ Mayhew and his team, it was fantastic working with you again.
Like all our events this would not have been possible without our band of volunteers, who showed up, not just at the festival but at TAFD as well. Of course, it isn’t just about the actual event so thank you to everyone who put the leg work in, in the run up and also those who came back bleary eyed for the clear up the next day.
Appreciation must also be shown to the family and friends of our volunteers who came along and gave a hand, judging by the happy atmosphere I don’t think they were bribed, although there may have been an ice cream or two provided.
A special mention must be given to Rizzo and Scout who were great supervisors, if we ever decide to have four legged mascots you have the job!
The success of this year has fuelled the fire to make 2025 even better, the brainstorming has already begun so watch this space.

Have you saved the date?

It’s hard to believe that Tidworth Town Festival is nearly upon us once again! On Saturday 20th July we gather at Tidworth Town Community Centre Field for an amazing, fun filled family event, with free entry and activities for everyone.

The main stage will once again be sponsored by Wilmont Building Services which will have a great sound system, full lighting show and a fabulous line-up of bands, local acts & choirs.

Headliners Neon, will be bringing a carefully chosen mix of the best 90’s, 00’s, 10’s, through to now with an awesome hip hop kick. Also on the bill are One Last Thrill, CLS, The Tribe, For Tomorrow as well as local favorites Military Wives Choir, Paige Dobson & Tamzin Stead and many more.

There will be a wide range of activities for the the whole family including a free bouncy castle, circus workshop & rock climbing wall. We have a big red rocket and a mini big top that will host shows throughout the day. We have rope walkers, stilt walkers and balloon modellers to help keep the kids entertained.

Our friends from Castledown Radio will also be there to cover the event live on the day. There will be various stalls and food vendors as well as a fully licenced bar. We hope you can join us for what promises to be a fantastic family event for the local community. Gates open at 1200 noon with live music kicking off mid-afternoon and finishing at 10pm
