Born into a military family (a sister born in Libya, a brother born in Germany) I grew up in Penang, Malaysia and Munster, Germany. Not even seeing England until I was nearly 8 years old. I joined the army (Royal Signals) and was briefly posted to Tidworth before my unit was posted to Aldershot to 5 Airborne Brigade and shortly afterwards we were despatched on the QE2 on OP Corporate to the Falklands Conflict. I was then recruited into the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. I have lived and worked in Hong Kong, New York (United Nations) and in fact my daughter was born in New York. I have also worked in Rio De Janeiro, Cyprus, Kiev and Washington DC amongst other places. I returned to Tidworth 5 years ago to attend to “grandparent duties”. I aim to serve the people of Tidworth to the best of my abilities, and promote Tidworth Towns close and binding relationship with the military.
