About Mina |
|---|
I am a mother of four, a lifelong learner, a dedicated community volunteer, and someone who believes that small, consistent actions can create enormous change. My life has always been a balance between caring for my family, growing as an individual, and giving back to the place I call home — and I have found that each part supports the others, making me stronger and more purposeful in everything I do.
At the heart of my world are my four children. Raising them has taught me patience, resilience, time management, and the true meaning of unconditional love. Juggling family responsibilities alongside work, study, and community projects is not always easy, but it has taught me to value every moment, prioritise what matters most, and lead by example. I want my children to grow up knowing that they can shape the world around them, that kindness and responsibility matter, and that it is never too late to learn something new or stand up for what you believe in.
Alongside my family life, I work part-time at an academy — a role I value deeply. It allows me to contribute to education, support young people in their own growth, and stay connected with a community of learners and educators. Balancing this work with my home life takes careful organisation, but it gives me a sense of fulfilment and personal achievement, showing me that I can be both a present parent and an active, contributing member of the wider workforce.
I am also a student — proof that learning does not have an age or a stage. Studying while managing a household, job, and voluntary work is a challenge, but it is one I embrace willingly. Every lesson I learn, every skill I gain, is not just for myself but an investment in my family, my community, and the work I care about. It keeps my mind sharp, my perspective fresh, and reminds me that growth is a lifelong journey.
Perhaps the work I am most proud of is Tidworth Zero Waste, which I founded and have run since 2019. What began as a simple desire to reduce waste and help those around me has grown into a vital community initiative. Zero Waste has four other locations now. Over these years, I have saved tons of food that would otherwise have been thrown away — rescuing surplus produce, sharing it with households in need, and cutting waste while helping people stretch their budgets. This work has fed families, strengthened community bonds, and shown that environmental care and social support go hand in hand. Every meal saved is a win for the planet and a help to someone who needs it — and knowing I have made that difference is the greatest reward.
I am far from perfect, and there are days when the balance feels hard to keep. But I keep going — for my children, for my community, and because I truly believe that one person with passion, commitment, and heart really can make a huge difference.
