Andrew was the Wiltshire County Councillor for Swindon with responsibilities for Economic Development throughout the 1990s including chairing the HR Committee with 22 000 employees. He was a police authority member before the advent of Police and Crime Commissioners hence is a policy nerd. He was elected a district councillor for Tidworth & Perham Down on Kennet District Council and has therefore retained a keen interest in defence policy matters from recruitment to brigadier grade appointments at Joint Service Command Staff College Level. Currently Andrew is a town Councillor for Tidworth North and West which stretches from the Garrison via Zouch to the Military Cemetery then over the road to everything above the Ludgershall Road to Windmill Road all the Manor Bridge Court estate too. Andrew reads the FT, travels by public transport as he works for Southeastern Trains.
