SHINE

SHINE is a 10 week support programme that looks at healthy lifestyles in a way that is fun, involving and interactive. It is educational but we try to deliver that in a child friendly manner. We look at things like portion control, food groups, healthy lunchboxes, breakfasts, sugar levels in drinks and food labelling, and every session incorporates an hour of this education based activity and then an hour of fun games and activities to encourage children to look at activity in a more positive way. Within this we usually cover things like scooting, walking, swimming, tae kwon do, frisbee....activities that you could mostly do at home with your child or are available locally.

School Governors Wanted

Governors have never been more important in supporting schools.  The skills and expertise they bring help schools develop and grow, securing the future of our local children.  Currently there are a number of vacancies for governors in schools across the plains area.  This could be your opportunity to have a really positive impact on the community and gain new skills.
